Letter to the Editor: Sheriff Farmer – speeding and traffic enforcement in The Villages

To the Editor:

I know Sheriff Farmer wants to run again to be reelected. Good, Great?? Well I know the department is great at catching criminals who are breaking in and entering homes but until there was an issue on Morse Boulevard North, not a lot of traffic enforcement was done. Forgive me, but has this department been advised to turn a blind eye at speeding infractions in other areas of The Villages? Just wondering. I live in Sanibel, would sure like to see the Sheriff’s patrol looking into the neighborhood where golf carts (they are the worst) don’t observe stop signs and recently everyday in my area, a little Fiat just ignores the rules until the driver gets to Pinellas and then MIGHT have to stop. Today we were walking back from the neighborhood pool and 4 golf carts just plowed past the stop sign at Alwick and Bradford. Tired of this! If the safety of all citizens is important, then that means all The Village areas need some enforcement.
