Garrett Miles expected back on ‘American Idol’ Wednesday night

Garrett Miles is expected to be on “American Idol” Wednesday at 8 p.m. for the “group round.”

It’s another challenge for the blind singer who regularly performs in The Villages. Miles, 26, from Phenix City, Alabama, has already made it through two rounds of Idol.
Group week is a difficult format where solo artists are required to perform a number with a group of other Idol contestants. It’s going to be another evening of pressure for Miles and the rest of the Idol cast.
“The remaining singers must simultaneously work together and stand out to survive the most challenging part of Hollywood Week” Kayla Kumari Upadhyaya wrote in the Hollywood Reporter.

“In the group round, the contestants have to split themselves into teams of four and spend the evening selecting a captain and a song, and rehearsing their group performance,” the Reporter stated. “They’re faced with the challenge of working together while also standing out. The stress of the group round takes its toll on the increasingly delirious contestants, many of whom stay up almost all night perfecting their routines.”
Miles has been one of the most popular contestants on the show thus far. The judges, Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr. and Keith Urban have raved about his country sound. Urban described Miles’ vocals as, “a country thing.”
Now, the question is: Can Garrett Miles succeed in a group performance? It will help determine his future on American Idol.
