The Florida Highway Patrol has issued a report in connection with Monday afternoon’s golf cart collision on the golf cart path near Turtle Mound golf course.

William R. Stone, 74, of Persimmon Loop, was ejected from his golf cart following the collision at 3:18 p.m. Monday. He was transported by EMS to Ocala Regional Medical Center.

His golf cart had collided with a golf cart driven by Paul Milton Hoecker, 64, of Shale Trail Loop. Hoecker was not injured in the collision.

Stone’s golf cart had crossed the “centerline of the path,” the accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol indicated. There is no center line painted on that section of golf cart path.

Neither golf cart driver was using a seatbelt, the FHP report noted.
