Landscaping company’s truck’s engine catches fire on CR466A

Firefighters from the Villages Public Safety Department put out a fire in the engine of a truck at noon
Firefighters from the Villages Public Safety Department put out a fire in the engine of a truck at noon Thursday.

The Villages Public Safety Department was on the scene of a truck fire which forced traffic to be rerouted at noon Thursday off County Road 466A.

The pickup truck from Five Star Landscaping was westbound on CR 466A when the engine caught on fire.

It did not appear that anyone was injured.

Firefighters extinguished the fire.

Westbound traffic on CR 466A was being rerouted down Canal Street by Community Watch.

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office was also on the scene.
