Who is Dianne Olsen, candidate for Sumter County Republican Party State Committeewoman?

Dianne Olsen, who is running for Sumter County Republican Party State Committeewoman, shares her candidate profile:

My name is Dianne Olsen and I am running for Sumter County Republican State Committeewoman. I will be your voice, your liaison between our County and State Party and elected officials. As I meet with them at quarterly meetings, I will be discussing and strategizing issues and concerns that you share with me. I have pledged to do a much better job of the sharing of information back and forth from our leaders in the State to the people of our community.

I was born and raised in Portsmouth NH, a city that had every branch of the military. Growing up we were told by our parents and teachers “You be proud to be an American!” And we were! I love this country and Patriotism is embedded in my heart and soul. And I love this community and that’s why I’m running for State Committeewoman.

I graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Education and then worked as a faculty administrator for Connecticut’s State University System. My husband and I retired and came here 11 years ago.

I have worked diligently to promote our Republican candidates and values as an active leader in this community. Serving for 8 years as a leader in the Republican Federated Women of The Villages club I have been instrumental in growing that organization to over 200 working members and associates. I am also an active member of the Sumter County Republican Executive Committee, serving as the Chair of Election Planning and on the Voter Engagement Committees, actively working to engage members of our community in the Election process.

Since 2018, under my leadership, I started our award-winning phone bank. We put Sumter County on the map in being #1 in the State for getting the highest percentage of our registered voters to the polls. We have continued to build upon that proud success and in 2022 we made over 161,000 calls. We now have over 100 volunteers and are the largest political phone bank in the State.

After the 2020 election I worked with our Voter Integrity committee to develop the Protect Your Vote initiative. It encourages Florida residents to make sure that their names have been removed from the voter rolls from the state they left. Voter fraud steals all our votes and our voices, but it can also steal our money. I want us to unify to protect our fellow Sumter County residents and tell everyone we know to protect their vote and remove their former voter registrations.

I pledge to you that if you elect me as your State Committeewoman I will continue the work I have started for you here in Sumter County, and I will keep on working for you because you are the people I represent.

I am a Constitutional pro-life Conservative and a firm believer in the 2nd Amendment and supporter of our military. I believe in legal immigration, law and order, pro-choice of schools, and going back and teaching our students to be proud to be Americans, living in the greatest Country in the world.

I humbly ask for your vote in this race, ending on August 20th.

-Dianne Olsen
