Democrats prefer politics over rules of law

Dennis Petrucelli

Manners and morality go hand and hand and are essential factors for developing good habits. So why is it an expressed concern regarding unserious dialogue is quixotically met with unserious dialogue. By “unserious,” I do not mean playful joking or kidding about a person or subject, a welcome change in this vile political climate, but rather, being dismissive, flippant and even hateful.

Are inane remarks, impoverished witticisms, partisan fabrications or reactionary news coverage by unserious people a reflex response or an obsession?  What causes narrow- minded thinkers to believe that everything bad can be traced back to one person? “Man cast out of the Garden of Eden, Trump’s fault.  And it rained for 40 days and 40 nights as Noah navigated his ark to safety, Trump’s fault.  A Russian dossier allegation, Trump’s fault.  An inquiry into potential Ukraine corruption by known unknowns, Trump’s crime.  And why isn’t there balanced reporting and fairness in news coverage?  Why won’t news people acknowledge Donald Trump’s humane undertakings and achievements such as the only president to ever stand up for religious freedom at a United Nations gathering.  Or Donald Trump’s exhibits judicious decision making by imposing further sanctions, rather than bombing Iran as a response to Iran recent provocations. Or that Donald Trump called on nations not to criminalize homosexuality.  Or Donald Trump publicly urges China to abide by its treaty commitment granting Hong Kong its autonomy. Or Donald Trump’s economy where real middle-class income hit $65,084 the highest level ever gained at $4,144 (6.8 percent) (Census Bureau).

The dictum that “what makes a person bad also makes him good” is persuasive. Trump’s personality is abrasive, direct, impulsive and when hit will come back hitting harder and louder. Many of us are not use to, nor agree with this type of behavior from a president. Yet, it is just this type of behavior that has been effective in stopping the Democrats and the news media who have found more creative and vile ways of applying Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals” against the likes of Donald Trump or anyone or anything that stands in the way of their radicalized agenda. Is there any question that any other approach taken by Donald Trump would have been viewed as a weakness? This is a strong position and one needed because both the Democratic Party and the biased news media, as defined by their unorthodox activism, are willing to conduct politics outside any conceivable definition of acceptable behaviors.  The Democrats “standard of proof” for public policy, and the rule of law appears to be “merely because we deem it so”.  This attitude has caused them global embarrassment as they continue their Roadrunner v. Wile E Coyote routine in an attempt to discredit Donald Trump.

Process matters and so it is deeply troubling that Democrats’ view of substantive evidence to impeach a president is instigated by an intelligence’s bureaucrat who the Justice Department states has clear indications of political bias. Essentially, they attempt to set a dangerous precedent wherein a bureaucrat who dislikes a president has filed a complaint based on hearsay that forces disclosure of presidential diplomacy. Democrats’ antics continue to prove that they prefer to be a nation of politics rather than a nation of laws.

Nancy Pelosi ignored a roll call to authorize the removal of a president in order to avoid accountability as the roll call would prove to be a partisan move, and because by ignoring it House Democrats do not have to define the parameters of this inquiry. She repeats her Obamacare attitude “we have to vote on it to see what is in it” philosophy with calling for impeachment before the Democrats ever saw any physical material pertain to the allegation.  Pelosi got her wish and when the transcript was revealed, Democrats discovered that Trump never spoke to William Barr nor did he request an investigation of Joe Biden or his son. Rather, and much to the chagrin of Democrats, Trump asked for inquiries involving CrowdStrike. The Democrats push for impeachment now provides an opportunity for Donald Trump to revisit whether it was Russia or the Ukraine that interfered with the 2016 election.

In essence the House of Representatives has for all intent and purpose abdicated their oaths of office.  And, because of their continuing, senseless and baseless antics, have rendered Congress as a whole absolutely unproductive to a point that they can’ even pass a budget nor the US-Mexico- Canada Agreement with its promise of 176,000 jobs and $68 billion to America. The Democrats are pushing a socialist agenda when the economy is booming and ignore decades of supporting empirical evidence that a market economy provides a degree of liberty that creates the most opportunities for the most people.  They continue to play the race card even as many Africa-Americans no longer believe this political rhetoric. They want to virtually eliminate private health insurance and promote “Medicare For All” which translates to “Medicare For None”.  And, to exacerbate the issue would deny better than 70% of the population of their employer provided health insurance.  They promote free college education but one wonders if administrators and educators will be willing to have their compensation and benefits heavily reduced. Their debunked statistical data, pertaining to doomsday climate change predictions has young people near hysteria.  Environmentalist and socialist are one in the same, and the green agenda, single payer health care, free education, guaranteed basic income, etc. are all an attempt at total government control. The Democrats inveigh against Immigration and Customs Enforcement and support Sanctuary Cities harboring illegal and known felons. Their silence regarding the politicization of the upper level of leadership in our intelligence agencies does not escape the opprobrium of the more serious among us. The Democrats have lost their credibility because they fail to deliver on policy. Given their political positions and political antics one can only conclude that we are dealing with George Costanza Democrats and as Jerry Seinfeld aptly explained whatever George says or does, do the opposite and you will be right.
