Ecuadorian man without driver’s license arrested after traffic stop in The Villages

Jose Ernesto Delgado Nugra

An Ecuadorian man without a driver’s license was arrested after a traffic stop in The Villages.

Jose Ernesto Delgado Nugra, 24, of Ocala, at 7:10 p.m. Wednesday had been eastbound on County Road 466 when a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy noticed the vehicle he was driving did not have working brake lights. The vehicle also had a cracked windshield. A traffic stop was initiated near the entrance to the Village of Belvedere.

Nugra handed the deputy a Republica Del Ecuador identification card. Nugra said he has been in the United States for seven months and has been working. He said he “just never got around to getting a license,” the deputy wrote in the arrest report.

He was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle without a valid license. He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $500 bond.
