If you’re looking for a wonderful night out in The Villages, then look no further than Sakura Sushi & Grill.
The Japanese restaurant features two locations in Florida’s Friendliest Hometown: 265 Colony Blvd. and 1104 Bichara Blvd. While we have enjoyed meals at both many times, our most recent visit was at the Colony Boulevard location.
As you enter Sakura, you are welcomed by a quaint Japanese setting – a truly delightful blend of Asian and modern luxury. There are three choices of seating: table, booth and sushi bar.
There are no hibachi grills in the seating area at the Colony Boulevard location (the Bichara Boulevard restaurant offers that kind of seating), but guests at most tables have a wonderful view of the sushi bar and can enjoy watching the chefs hard at work.
Sakura’s menu offers a wide variety of choices for appetizers, sushi and hibachi meals. We enjoyed a hibachi dinner of filet mignon and shrimp that came with clear soup and a house salad drizzled with ginger dressing, as well as a trio of sushi: avocado, Boston and shrimp tempura rolls. And we topped it off with traditional iced tea and steaming hot, delicious green tea.
Everything was fresh, hot and delicious. The hibachi dinner portions were quite generous. And the sushi rolls were full, fresh and wound tight – a must in our book!
Another great thing about Sakura is that the high-quality food comes with a very friendly staff that bustles around to make sure your beverages are full and empty dishes are cleared.
We dine at Sakura for the wonderful, consistent freshness of the food and the always-pleasant experience. And we highly recommend you give either location a try.
