Lady Lake woman arrested after allegedly doing some pricetag switching at Bealls

Lori Ann Sheer

A Lady Lake woman was arrested after allegedly doing some pricetag switching at Bealls.

Lori Ann Sheer, 53, entered the store on Citrus Boulevard in Leesburg on Dec. 29 and went to the jewelry department where she took clearance labels off items and put them on full-price items, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. She then went to the ladies clothing department and did the same thing.

She went to the checkout and used her promotional Bealls Bucks to pay for the merchandise. She was stopped by the store’s loss prevention officer who contacted law enforcement.

It was discovered she’d brought along her own tape in order to make the pricetag transfers, the report indicated.

She was arrested on charges of theft and fraud and booked at the Lake County Jail. She was released after posting $2,500 bond.

Last year, Sheer had been arrested on a charge of welfare fraud.
