SMASH Productions will present Nunsense, a musical comedy, Nov. 8, 9 and 10 at Savannah Center.

Among the talented cast are two actors who have played roles in Nunsense in other locations. Bonnie Williams is playing the Reverend Mother for the third time and Billie Thatcher is in her second production of Nunsense.  Rounding out the cast is Carolyn Hoffman, Holly Jeske and Sally Spieth.

Nunsense, the second-longest running Off-Broadway show in history, is being performed for the first time in The Villages. Nunsense is a lighthearted spoof about the misadventures of five nuns trying to manage a fundraiser. Sadly, the rest of the Sisterhood died from botulism after eating vichyssoise prepared by Sister Julia. Thus, the remaining nuns stage a talent show to raise the money needed to bury their dearly departed.

Bob Stehman will be making his directorial debut in The Villages with this show. He has acted in many Villages Shows including Forever Plaid, You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown and Company.  This is a live music show with music provided by Kevin O’Connell and his band.

Smash Productions is a Villages musical theater company founded in 2016. Their first two productions were USO: 75 years of Entertainment and Love and Marriage.

Tickets for Nunsense are on sale through the Villages Box Offices or online at www.thevillagesentertainment.com. Tickets are $28 for residents and $33 for non-residents. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the HSPCA/Humane Society of Sumter County and Villagers for Veterans.
