Eleanor Goodnow Mistarka Stack Stewart, 92, of Leesburg, FL, went to be with her Lord Jesus on  Saturday, February 04, 2017. Mrs. Stewart was born November 2, 1924 in Hyannis, MA to Lewis Weston and Florence Lillian (Jameson) Goodnow. She retired as the head Occupational Therapist for the state hospital in Northampton, MA and had worked in private practice as a psychologist with a psychiatrist. After her retirement as an Occupational Therapist she began a career with The Salvation Army working as a Sergeant. Her career with The Salvation Army moved to Central Florida in 2004 from Panama City working in the Kissimmee / St. Cloud area then Sanford and finally Leesburg where she and her husband Bill retired permanently. Eleanor was a devoted Christian and a member of the Congregational Church of Mt. Dora and loved working and playing on her computer. Survivors include her loving husband of 27 years, Bill; sons, David Mistarka of Hernando and Col. Robert Stack of Ft. Worth, TX; brother, Wayne Goodnow of Crystal River; sister, Lois Gibbons of Stafford, VA; grandchildren Bobby and Courtney and beloved cats, Thunder and Lightning. Eleanor was preceded in death by her son, Ron Mistarka. A memorial service will be held in the Congregational Church of Mt. Dora in the near future. For those wishing to make memorial contributions in honor of Eleanor, they may be given to the Congregational Church of Mt. Dora, 650 N. Donnelly St., Mt. Dora, FL 32757.
