An 84-year-old Villager was arrested after allegedly striking a woman in the head Sunday night in the Village of Summerhill.
Sumter County sheriff’s deputies were called at 9:10 p.m. to a home on Berkshire Place.
A woman at the home told deputies that she and George Clayton Duff had been “arguing all day,” according to an arrest report. The argument turned physical when Duff struck her in the left temple.
Duff admitted he “lost his temper,” the arrest report indicated.
The woman indicated she did not want to press charges.
Duff was taken into custody on a charge of battery and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. Bond was set at $500.
