82-year-old woman ticketed as result of crash earlier this month at Morse Boulevard and State Road 44

An 82-year-old Leesburg woman has been ticketed as a result of a serious crash earlier this month at Morse Boulevard and State Road 44.

Ludella Oneda Ponds had been at the wheel of this vehicle on Dec. 14.

Ludella Oneda Ponds had been at the wheel of a 1998 Honda Accord at 9:40 a.m. Dec. 14 westbound on State Road 44 when she made a left turn in front of a 2010 Volvo S40 driven by 48-year-old Tyo Hughes Roden of Lady Lake, according to a Florida Highway Patrol accident report released this week.

Tyo Hughes Roden had been driving this vehicle involved in an accident Dec. 14 at Morse Boulevard and State Road 44.

Ponds was transported by ambulance to Ocala Regional Medical Center.

Roden was taken to Leesburg Regional Medical Center.

Ponds has been ticketed on a charge of failure to yield to oncoming traffic.
