76-year-old Village of Winifred man jailed without bond after arrest

Henry Robert Mabry

A 76-year-old Village of Winifred man was jailed without bond after his arrest Saturday on a charge of battery.

Henry Robert Mabry was booked shortly after noon at the Sumter County Detention Center.

It marks his third trip to the jail this year.

Mabry had been arrested Jan. 26 after leaving a softball-sized welt on the right upper arm of his wife during an altercation at their home on Rosebury Loop. The couple of more than 30 years had been out for dinner and drinks, but got into an argument over their dog upon returning home. Mabry’s wife sought refuge at a neighbor’s home.

Days later, Mabry again found himself behind bars after returning to his Village of Winifred home in violation of a judge’s order
