A 35-year-old Village of Santo Domingo resident was arrested on a charge of marijuana possession after she was stopped for speeding on Buena Vista Boulevard.
Stefanie Jamiro Sigua had been at the wheel of a vehicle that was traveling 50 miles per hour in a 35 mph zone at 9:54 a.m. Thursday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. During a traffic stop, she presented the deputy with her Florida’s driver’s license, vehicle registration and an expired insurance card.
A search of the vehicle turned up two plastic bags in the center console containing 10 grams of marijuana.
She was arrested on a charge of marijuana possession and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $1,000 bond.
She was also cited for no proof of insurance and issued a written warning for speeding.
