32 golf cart operators ticketed for running stop signs

Fifty-two golf cart citations were issued over the past three months by the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

A report from the sheriff’s office detailing citations from Oct. 2, 2013-Jan. 5, 2014 shows that the sheriff’s office is cracking down on golf cart drivers running stop signs.

Thirty-two citations were issued to golf cart operators who ran stop signs.

Other offenses included careless driving, no motor vehicle registration, and improper operation of a golf cart.
