Silly $5.38 county tax refund could have been handled more efficiently

To the Editor:

Just got a $5.38 refund from the Sumter County Tax Collector. Wondering how much it cost to generate the enclosed letter, plus postage. This was a massive refund, would it have been simpler to give the tax payer a credit on next year’s taxes.
