About 1,000 Duke Energy customers in The Villages are projected to be without power until 9 p.m. today.
The outage affects many homes on the Historic Side of The Villages.
The outage was reported at 2:21 p.m. Wednesday after a storm system moved through the area.
Duke Energy estimate that power will be restored by 9:15 p.m.
