Three people hospitalized after crash at entrance to Spanish Springs

Three people were transported by ambulance from the scene of a crash Saturday night at the entrance to Spanish Springs.

The accident occurred at about 7 p.m. on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 at Main Street, according to preliminary information from the Lady Lake Police Department.

The driver of a white GMC ran a red light and struck a white Nissan that was turning left from Main Street.

The three injured people were taken to UF Health-The Villages Hospital.

Traffic was being diverted away from the accident scene. The Villages Public Safety Department also responded to the accident scene.
