The first Hobby Lobby in The Villages opened last week and brought with it 55,000-square-feet of merchandise that is sure to satisfy every local hobbyist, artist, and crafter.
Located at 3835 Wedgewood Lane in Buffalo Ridge Plaza, the massive store features dozens of rows stocked with a wide array of items.
The store features a bevy of home decor items and household goods, with multiple rows of dinnerware, thermal cups, decorative flowers, wall art, and a variety of how-to and self-help books.Â
For artists and crafters, there are multiple aisles of paints, spray paints, art supplies, canvases, papers, and even a dedicated fabric station.
The store even has various pieces of furniture including stools, chairs, end tables, and cabinets.
Hobby Lobby was founded by David and Barbara Green, who opened their first brick-and-mortar store in Oklahoma City in 1972. Since then, the company has expanded to over 900 locations throughout the United States, including 56 throughout the state of Florida.
The new location is situated along Wedgewood Lane, across from the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant that opened in 2021.
Hobby Lobby is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and is closed on Sunday.
