Southern Oaks Bridge opens to automobile traffic in southern end of The Villages

The Southern Oaks Bridge marks a first for The Villages with both automobile and golf cart traffic using the bridge over the Florida Turnpike.

The Southern Oaks Bridge opened to four lanes of automobile traffic on Thursday.

It will soon be open for two lanes of golf cart traffic.

The bridge will lead to a world of new activities including the Shallow Creek Championship Course with its Boosters restaurant and the new Eastport Town Center.
