James Keith

James “Jim” Keith passed away at Cornerstone Hospice in The Villages, Florida on October 10, 2022, surrounded by his wife and children. He was 80.

Born in Akron in 1942, he attended grade school at St. Vincent-St. Mary’s and graduated from Archbishop Hoban High School before earning a B.S. in Business Administration in 1965 from the University of Akron, where he was a member of the Lone Star (Pi Kappa Epsilon) fraternity and President of the Inter-Fraternity Council.

After being stationed in Munich, Germany and Ft. Campbell, Kentucky as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, Jim returned to Northeast Ohio to embark on a 50-year career in medical plastics and marry the former Sandra Cochran. The couple settled in Hudson, Ohio to raise their family before moving to Cary, North Carolina and Birmingham, Alabama. Jim is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sandie; daughter Amy (Doug) Gubner and grandsons Douglas and Michael; son Bill Keith; and siblings Sandy (Bob) Hudkins; Elaine (Bob) Nay; Susan (Avery) Dover; and Bob (Marilyn) Keith. He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Jane (Rochford) Keith.

A memorial service will be held on November 3 at 2 p.m. at St. George’s Episcopal Church, 1250 Paige Place, Lady Lake, Florida 32159. Donations can be made in Jim’s name to St. George’s Episcopal Church of Lady Lake, Florida or Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Rd., Tavares, Fl. 32778.
