A candidate taking on incumbent Congressman Daniel Webster is busy laying out her “bold” vision and blasting her opponent’s absenteeism.
Candidate Laura Loomer held a town hall on Tuesday at Kelley’s Lunch Box & Badges Tavern in Bushnell.
Loomer will face Webster in the Aug. 23 GOP primary.
Loomer said she wants to boost the America economy starting with bringing back manufacturing and energy independence.
“Every single American and every single voter in District 11 is feeling the pain at the pump, they’re feeling the pain at the bank, they’re feeling the pain at the grocery store and it’s going to take real bold leadership and representation to help alleviate their concerns and help put more money back into their pockets,” Loomer said.
Loomer feels very confident about going up against Webster in the upcoming primary.
“Given the fact that we continue to out-fundraise and out-work the sitting Congressman for every single fundraising quarter since I filed to run against him shows that the American people and the voters of District 11 are hungry for new leadership and new representation given the fact that their current Congressman is one of the most absent members of Congress and is not even showing up for them in times when it matters most.”
Kelley Rhoden owner of Kelley’s Lunch Box & Badges Tavern, said that hosting Loomer’s event was important for residents of the district.
“I just needed to do my part in getting everyone the information they wanted to find out,” Rhoden said. “You can’t make a blind vote, so I wanted them to be able to ask her questions and meet and find a different way to go about helping out.”
