Patricia Cornell

Patricia S. Payton Cornell of Fruitland Park, Florida went home to the Lord on July 10, 2020 after a long illness.

Patricia was born in Atlanta, Georgia April 17, 1956 to the late Ernest and Anita Payton. Patricia attended West Georgia College Carrollton, Georgia and graduated from Georgia Baptist School of Nursing Atlanta, Georgia. Her career in nursing was primarily in Home Health in Leesburg, Florida area. Patricia was a devout Christian, taught Sunday School, and served in various capacities in several churches. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church Leesburg, Florida. Patricia shared her faith in the Lord with all in whom she had contact. Patricia’s caring ways and uplifting spirit endeared her to many. Throughout her long illness she was a joy to all who knew her and will be missed immensely.

Patricia was married to Rev/Chaplain James (Jim) Mark Cornell Fruitland Park, Florida for 42 years. She is survived by two sons, James (Jay) Mark Cornell, Jr. Deerfield Beach, Florida, Nathan Stewart Cornell Leesburg, Florida one daughter, Elizabeth Ann Cornell Okahumpha, Florida, one grandson Joseph Payton White, and numerous family members and friends.
