Dorothy Ann Armstrong (Dot) passed away at the Buffalo Crossing Rehab Center located in The Villages Florida on July 9th, 2020 at the age of 94. Dorothy was born and raised in Lorain, Ohio where she graduated from Lorain High School. She was a member of the Delaware Avenue Methodist Church, where she married her beloved husband of 67 years, George Richard Armstrong (Dick).
Dorothy worked in various retail and banking positions and retired from Lorain National Bank after many years of service. Dot and Dick loved to camp and were members of several different trailer clubs. They traveled extensively visiting 46 States, Canada and Mexico, always accompanied by their various dogs.
In 1978 they retired and set off on a 3-month caravan throughout Mexico. Following their return, they resided in Mission, Texas seasonally for 27 years while traveling during the summer months. For 3 summers they both worked at Mount Rushmore National Park. In 2006, Dot and Dick relocated to The Villages Florida to be closer to family.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Dick; her son Fred; her parents, Fred and May Spaid and her two brothers, Melville and Jack Spaid.
Dorothy is survived by her son; John Richard Armstrong (Karen); her grandchildren Traci Armstrong ( Steve Cakebread), Melissa Hutcheon (Doug) and Tim Armstrong (Jeanette); and her great grandchildren, Henry and Gavin Hutcheon and Amelia Cakebread, who affectionately called her “GG Dot”.
