License plate seized from 74-year-old Villager’s automobile

The license plate was seized from a 74-year-old Villager’s automobile in the parking lot of a Winn-Dixie grocery store.

A 2015 Honda CRV driven by Patricia Gartland Kelly of the Village of Rio Ponderosa was pulled over at 1:20 p.m. Monday in the parking lot of the grocery store at La Plaza Grande in The Villages, according to an incident report from the Lady Lake Police Department. The police officer initiated the traffic stop after discovering the vehicle’s registered owner had a suspended license.

Kelly told the officer she was “completely unaware of her license suspension,” the report said. Her license plate and driver’s license were seized by the officer. She was issued a $160 citation.

Kelly made arrangements to have AAA tow her car from the parking lot.
