Fruitland Park man arrested after paying unwelcome visit to Wal-Mart

Ryan Christopher Coufal

A Fruitland Park man was arrested after paying an unwelcome visit to a local Wal-Mart store.

Ryan Christopher Coufal, 35, had been riding a bicycle Wednesday afternoon along U.S. Hwy. 27/441 when he was stopped by a Fruitland Park police officer. The officer had received word from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office that Coufal had just left the Wal-Mart store in Leesburg, from which he had been previously trespassed.

He was taken into custody and booked at the Lake County Jail. He was released after posting $500 bond.

Coufal had been arrested in 2016 after a single-vehicle crash in Lady Lake.
