Betty Lou Davies

Betty Lou Davies, 67, of The Villages, Florida passed away December 12, 2019 after a courageous battle against breast cancer.

She was born in Scottsboro, Alabama a daughter of the late Ray Steele and Patrick and  Johnnie (Mason) Tobin. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of The Villages.  After her childhood in Bonifay, FL and Macon, GA, she lived most of her adult life in Conyers, GA where she had many friends. She retired to The Villages, FL where she forged many new friendships on the golf course, tennis court, and at the dog park.  She had a love for funny stories, good food, and big hats.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Johnny Ray Steele.

Betty is survived by nieces, Amanda Steele and Julie Steele and nephew, John Steele and his wife Terri and a sister-in-law, Peggy Steele all of Macon, GA,  numerous cousins in Bonifay and Tallahassee, FL, as well as her many friends and her one true love, Coco her fur baby.

The family will receive friends at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd, The Villages, FL 32159 on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 from 2:00PM – 4:00PM. Funeral services will be at 11:00AM on Wednesday,  December 18, 2019 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, The Villages with The Reverend Juddy Perry officiating. Interment will be at on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Mount Zion Cemetery, Graceville, FL at 1:00 pm CST.

Memorials may be made to the Congregation Care Ministry at First Baptist Church of The Villages whose members  provided countless hours of meals, transportation to treatment, prayers, counsel and loving kindness during her illness. She found the Ethel to her Lucy through the church’s ministry.
