Sumter sheriff’s detectives seek help in nabbing Villages Wal-Mart bandit

Sumter County sheriff’s detectives are seeking help in catching a thief who ripped off merchandise from Wal-Mart at Buffalo Ridge Plaza in The Villages.

The man pictured above is being sought by the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office in connection with a theft that took place at Wal-Mart in The Villages in October.

The man shown above entered the store at 4085 Wedgewood Lane on Oct. 22 at about 8:50 p.m. He selected a backpack and filled it with several items and then grabbed a smart TV and ran out of the store without paying for the merchandise, a sheriff’s office report states.

The man has several tattoos on his arms and hands. He is approximately 5-foot-10-inches tall and has a goatee. Anyone with information about the crime or the suspect is asked to contact Detective DeArmond at (352) 793-2621 or Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS (8477).
