Wildwood officials approve site plan for four-story Hilton hotel on 466A

A site plan for a four-story Hilton hotel on County Road 466A across from Pinellas Plaza was approved Monday by the Wildwood City Commission.

The 55,706-square-foot Beaumont Home2 Suites Hotel on 2.5 acres near the northeast corner of Powell Road and CR 466A likely will open by the end of next year.

With studios and one-bedroom suites, Home2 Suites hotels are designed for extended stays. The hotel will have an outdoor pool and lounge and about 100 parking spaces surrounding the building.

A site plan for the hotel was approved Monday by the Wildwood Commission.

The hotel will be an anchor for the 154-acre Beaumont development next to Trailwinds Village. Besides the hotel, the first phase also includes 133 homes, 134 townhouses and 14 commercial lots along CR 466A and Powell Road.

This map shows where the hotel would be located on County Road 466A across from Pinellas Plaza in The Villages.

When it is completed, Beaumont will have 271 homes on three residential streets at the rear of the property and townhouses or duplexes behind the commercial lots.

Hilton’s Home2 Suites hotels are located in many cities including Atlanta, Birmingham, Kansas City and San Antonio. Amenities include a working wall with a work space and personal storage, sleeper sofas and dining tables. The hotels also feature saltwater pools, fitness centers and laundry facilities.

Commissioners also approved an amendment to Wildwood’s agreement with the Beaumont developer, KLP Beaumont Commercial, that includes a master plan for signage and revisions to home setback requirements.
