Ex-boyfriend jailed after allegedly tormenting his ex and new man friend

Mark Weller

An ex-boyfriend was arrested after allegedly tormenting his ex and her new man friend.

Mark Alan Weller, 57, of Ocala turned himself in late Tuesday night at the Lake County Jail. He was wanted on warrants charging him with burglary with assault, criminal mischief and simple assault.

The Maryland native this past weekend went to the home of his ex-girlfriend in Fruitland Park where she was in bed with her new boyfriend, according to an affidavit of probable cause from the Fruitland Park Police Department. He broke through a dead-bolted door and made his way to the bedroom where the pair was sleeping. Weller, who spent eight years in a relationship with the woman, threatened to beat up her new boyfriend.

Weller fled before law enforcement arrived on the scene. He later texted the woman, begging her to drop the charges. He offered to pay her $2,000 for the repair of the door.

He posted $12,000 bond and has been released from the jail.
