Resident of The Villages arrested in theft of money from Red Lobster

David Robert Morgan

A resident of The Villages has been arrested in the theft of money from Red Lobster at Buffalo Ridge.

David Robert Morgan, 57, who lives at 1905 Oviedo Court in the Village of Santo Domingo, had been employed as a server at Red Lobster but quit his job and left with $179.85 that belonged to the restaurant, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. A manager called Morgan multiple times asking for the return of the money and waited several hours before contacting law enforcement.

The Chicago native was arrested Saturday night at his home on Oviedo Court, which is owned by the William and Betty Morgan Trust.

He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $2,000 bond.
