Controversial Fox News personality Judge Jeanine Pirro to headline Trump Team 2020 event

The Sumter County chapter of Trump Team 2020 is holding a kickoff event featuring an appearance by a well-known and controversial Fox News host.

Judge Jeanine Pirro will be the special guest at the event, which is planned for Sunday, Sept. 22 from 4-6 p.m. at the SeaBreeze Recreation Center. Pirro, a former judge, prosecutor and politician from New York, is the host of Fox’s “Justice With Judge Jeanine.”

She is known for her pro-President Trump commentaries and is the author of a 2018 book titled “Liars, Leakers, and Liberals: The Case Against the Anti-Trump Conspiracy.”

Pirro came under fire earlier this year when she questioned Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar’s patriotism because she wears a hijab. Fox News quickly condemned her remarks and pulled her show for two weeks. And the agency released a statement about Pirro’s views, saying,

“They do not reflect those of the network and we have addressed the matter with her directly.”

Last week, Pirro – a former guest of Villagers for Trump – acknowledged for the first time that Fox had suspended her for the comments. She made the statement during an appearance on former Trump deputy adviser and Fox News contributor Sebastian Gorka’s radio program, while also saying that she was worried she could be fired.

Ticket prices for the upcoming event are $30 (general admission), $50 (VIP) and $500 (Gold). General admission tickets include an autographed copy of Pirro’s book, while VIP ticketholders also get a photograph taken with her. Gold ticket holders will participate in a 15-minute roundtable discussion with Pirro (limited to 10 people). All attendees will receive a free membership to the Trump Team 2020 Sumter County Chapter for the rest of the year.

GOP Rep. Mike Hill also will appear at the event. The member of the Florida House was the sponsor of the Heartbeat Protection Act, which called for blocking physicians from performing abortions if fetal heartbeats were detected.
