A Fruitland Park man was jailed after a noisy profane outburst.
Leesburg police officers were called at about 8:30 p.m. Thursday to the Racetrac service station on U.S. Hwy. 441 after a disturbance. Officers arriving on the scene found 24-year-old Christopher Saunders, of 3630 Eagles Nest Road, who appeared to have been consuming a Beer Rita, according to an arrest report.
“Based on (Saunders’) obnoxious demeanor it was apparent he was intoxicated,” the arresting officer wrote in the report.
Racetrac personnel said Saunders had been begging from customers and had attempted to hug an employee.
Officers asked Saunders to leave the premises, but instead he went to the east entrance of Racetrac and began “yelling and shouting curse words and vulgar statements while customers were actively entering and exiting the store in disbelief.”
The Danville, Va. native was arrested on charges of disorderly intoxication and trespassing. He was taken into custody and booked on $2,000 bond at the Lake County Jail.
