Homeless woman arrested at movie theater in The Villages

Rebecca Bennett

A homeless woman was arrested at a movie theater in The Villages.

Rebecca Sue Bennett, 51, had been banned Friday morning from the Rialto Theater at Spanish Springs Town Square, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. At 12:50 p.m. that day, theater management contacted law enforcement when Bennett returned and was sitting on a bench at the theater.

When police arrived on the scene, Bennett said she was tired and needed to rest.

She was arrested on a charge of trespassing and booked at the Lake County Jail on $1,000 bond.

Bennett had previously been arrested in 2017 after some late night loitering at La Plaza Grande at Spanish Springs.
