Sumter deputies searching for bandit who ripped off cell phone at Villages Wal-Mart

Sumter County sheriff’s deputies are seeking help in identifying a bandit who stole a cell phone from the Wal-Mart Supercenter in The Villages.

Sumter County sheriff’s deputies are looking for this man, shown from above through surveillance footage, who is believed to have stolen a phone from a victim in the self-checkout area of the Wal-Mart in the Buffalo Ridge Plaza in The Villages.

Deputies believe the man took a phone from a victim in the self-checkout area of the store, located in the Buffalo Ridge Plaza at 4085 Wedgewood Lane.

The white male was wearing what appears to be a black-and-white bandana on his head, a black shirt with elbow-length sleeves, blue jean-style pants and black shoes. He also appeared to have a tattoo sleeve on his left forearm, a sheriff’s office report states.
