Mary Tanner

Mary Elinor Tanner, age 99 of Oxford, passed May 1, 2019. Mary was born on September 24, 1919 to Clarence Everett and Cora Elizabeth (Ennis) Pease in Warrensburg, Illinois. Mary moved to Florida in 1937 to live with her brother and has lived in Sumter County since 1950.

Mary belong the United Methodist Church, enjoyed spending time crocheting, cooking and sewing. Mary was an avid gardener but most of all loved spending time with her family.
Mary married her first husband James Henry Coleman and he passed in 1965, she married Lester Tanner and he passed in 1997.
Mary is survived by her son James Henry (Joanna) Coleman, Jr. of Crystal River, daughter Mary Ruth (Bill) Turcotte of Maple Grove, Minnesota, daughter Barbara Ann Hudson of Wildwood, fourteen grandchildren, and many great and great-great grandchildren.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, and son Joe Burner Wooten who passed in 1997.
Graveside service will be held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell on Monday, May 6th, 2019 at 10:0 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Robinsdale Women’s Center, 3826 W. Broadway Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55422.
