A Wildwood woman was arrested after allegedly stealing a phone from her estranged man friend.
The man had been sitting in his car outside his church on Sunday when he was approached by 20-year-old Radericka McKeithan, who was “cussing” and claiming he owed her money, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. She reached into his car and snatched the man’s black LG20 cell phone.
The man drove to the Pilot Travel Center on State Road 44 to avoid further conflict. McKeithan followed him there. She got out and beat on the rolled-up windows of the man’s car and took off the car’s gas cap. She threw the gas cap across the parking lot. The man went to retrieve the gas cap and asked McKeithan to return his phone. She refused and a threw a plastic soda bottle at him, the report said.
Surveillance video from Pilot backed up the man’s account of McKeithan’s actions.
McKeithan, who has previously been convicted of theft, burglary and battery, was arrested on charges including theft and battery. She was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $17,000 bond.
