Marine Corps League of The Villages delivers donations to Howie-in-the-Hills school

Members of the Col. Phillip C. DeLong Marine Corps League Detachment 1267 presented donations to Lake Hills School in Howey-in-the-Hills recently.

Officers and ranking unit staff members from the Col. Phillip C. DeLong Marine Corps League Detachment 1267 visited Lake Hills School in Howie-in-the-Hills last month to deliver three donations to the facility.

Detachment Judge Advocate Mike Stewart led the nine-member delegation, which presented three checks to school Principal Robin Meyers. The donations, totaling $6,000, came from late member Ralph Hoffman, Military Order of Devil Dogs Pound 335 and Operation Helping Hand.

The presentation ceremony was held in the school’s state-of-the art gymnasium facilities with students present. Following the presentation, the delegation visited the school’s kitchen facilities and met with staff members to prepare for the upcoming annual April luncheon with educators, administrators and guests.
