A resident of The Villages was jailed after allegedly pulling a knife in an altercation outside a local bar.
Jeffery Michael Boothe, 44, who lives at 2321 Sebring St. in the Keystone Villas, was arrested at about 5 p.m. Wednesday outside the Shamrock Lounge in Leesburg.
A homeowner near the bar told police he had encountered Boothe and 31-year-old Christopher Courtney, of Leesburg, who were yelling, according to arrest reports from the Leesburg Police Department. The pair threatened the man and Boothe got out a pocket knife and began running at the man, the arrest report said. Courtney also ran at the man in an aggressive manner. The man grabbed a pitchfork to defend himself.
Police arrived of the scene and handcuffed the pair. The pocket knife was seized as evidence.
Boothe was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was booked at the Lake County Jail on $2,000 bond.
Courtney was taken into custody on a charge of battery.
