Arthur Glen Kroeker

Arthur Glen Kroeker

Arthur Glen Kroeker, 73, of Summerfield, Florida, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 16th at Estelle’s Hospice House after a three year battle with mesothelioma. Art was the youngest of three children born to the late Edwin and Edith Kroeker of Churchville, Pennsylvania.

He was a graduate of Council Rock High School, class of 1964. A veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Vietnam war, Art was stationed in Spain and Italy. He worked as a pipefitter and research mechanic for 35 years before he retired.

Art was a car fanatic who enjoyed owning a variety of vehicles and watching Formula 1 Racing. He was a talented and accomplished woodcarver who especially enjoyed making fish and furniture. He could fix just about anything. “Artie” enjoyed sharing his family cottage on Lake Ontario, in Canada (his happy place) with family and friends each summer. In the winter he and his wife, Lynn his wife of 44 years, would reside in sunny Florida. He loved fishing and boating in both the north and south.

Art has been preceded in death by his brother Kenneth Kroeker and is survived by his wife Lynn Weaver Kroker, and his brother Russell Kroeker. He was a well-loved “Uncle Art” to many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Art’s name can be made to Estelle’s House; 2897 SE 62nd Street, Ocala, Florida 34480, CureMeso.org, and the Mesothelioma Research Fund at Penn Medicine.
