Lady Lake man jailed without bond following his arrest in theft of vehicle

Mark Allen Craig

A Lady Lake man continued to be held without bond this weekend following his arrest in connection with the alleged theft of a vehicle.

Mark Allen Craig, 51, is facing a charge of grand theft of a motor vehicle after he allegedly stole a red 2001 GMC Sierra extended-cab pickup, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. The owner had discovered it missing on Dec. 30. Craig was arrested and taken into custody last week. He already was on probation at the time of his arrest.

He had been arrested in 1988 in Tampa on a charge of grand theft of a motor vehicle. He faced the same charge in two incidents in 1990 in Hillsborough County.
