To the Editor:
The hospital’s sharing of statistical data is all well and good. The issues brought up recently, however, would not have shown up in this data. Being left unattended, waiting for hours for a bed, waiting for hours to be discharged doesn’t show up in this data.
Fortunately, these people didn’t have a bad outcome. I hope the administration is not relying solely on this data. Patient safety, infection rate are very important, but not the whole story.
