Semi crash snarls traffic for hours on Interstate 75 at Wildwood exit

A semi crash snarled traffic Friday afternoon on Interstate 75 at the Wildwood exit at State Road 44.

A tractor trailer transporting food products driven by 30-year-old Davinder Singh of Tracy, Calif., was heading northbound shortly before 4 p.m. when an unidentified vehicle abruptly changed lanes in front of him, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

This semi overturned Friday afternoon at the Wildwood exit on Interstate 75.

In an attempt to avoid a crash, Singh steered to the outside lane, but he overcorrected and overturned. His truck collided with a 2006 Chevy pickup driven by 74-year-old Jackie Lynn Wade of Orlando.

Singh suffered minor injuries and was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center.

Wade also suffered minor injuries and was transported to Leesburg Regional Medical Center.

The crash shut down the center and outside northbound lanes for several hours.

Tow trucks prepare to tow the semi from the scene of the crash.
