Dolores Margaret Hamblin

Dolores Margaret Hamblin, 84, passed from this life Wednesday, March 14, 2018 in the home of her sister, Mary Liddy of The Villages. Born in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Julia (Haimann) Utz.

Dolores served her country with the U. S. Navy stationed in Germany from 1958-62. She was a military wife raising five children and living in various places as Washington, DC, Maryland, Japan, Puerto Rico and finally in Pensacola, FL. Dolores made Pensacola her home and has resided there since 1975.

Dolores embraced her Catholic faith and was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Pensacola, and St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Wildwood. She was active in the Catholic Charismatic renewal movement. Dolores worked in the Navy Commissary, NAS Pensacola for several years. Dolores lived to serve others, opening her home to both family, friends and strangers in need of a place to recoup and feel safe. She was committed to her family; always encouraging them to achieve their highest potential. She will be very much missed but will always live on in the hearts of all she touched.

Besides her parents, Dolores was predeceased by her siblings, Carolyn Biocic, Thomas Utz and Pearl Utz. She leaves her five children; Judy Guedj, Charles Hamblin (Jenny), Michele Hamblin, Shelia Rothenberger (Glenn), and Kevin Hamblin; six siblings; Annabelle Thorpe, Charles Utz (Lilly), John Utz (Teresa), Mary Liddy (Frank), James Utz (Sheila), and Frances McManus (Frank); 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Wildwood on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 11 a.m. Burial will be at a later date in Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola, FL.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Church Food Pantry 5323 E. County Rd 462, Wildwood, FL 34785, or Tyler Ray Hamblin’s (grandson) mission trip http://tylerhamblin.theworldrace.org , or a charity of your choice.
