Golf cart driver transported to Villages hospital after crash on Morse Boulevard

A man driving a golf cart was transported to The Villages Regional Hospital after a collision with a pickup truck on Morse Boulevard.

The accident occurred at about 3:45 p.m. Friday at the entrance to the San Antonio Villas, located south of Hacienda Hills Country Club.

Sumter County sheriff’s deputies were investigating the accident on Morse Boulevard.

A witness said a woman fell from the cart in the collision, but she did not require hospitalization. The woman was reportedly shaken up by the crash.

The driver of the pickup told Villages-News.com that the golf cart had turned in front of him.

The pickup truck sustained damage to the front bumper in the collision.

Sumter County sheriff’s deputies were investigating at the scene.

Kart-Aide towed the golf cart from the scene.

Morse Boulevard north of County Road 466 has been the subject of controversy. A Villager led a petition effort for change in 2015 after the death of a friend who had been killed while driving a golf cart.

The golf cart sustained damage on the driver’s side rear end.
