4. Villagers’ daughter dies after accepting a ride in a golf cart at Brownwood

A woman visiting her parents in The Villages in July, died days after she accepted a ride in a golf cart with a man she met at City Fire in Brownwood.

Timothy Foxworth, the man at the wheel of the golf cart, had been visiting his parents in the Village of Gilchrist. The newly acquainted pair had been traveling in the golf cart when Foxworth made an abrupt U-turn and the woman fell out, hitting her head on the pavement.

By his own account, Foxworth “panicked,” dragged her body into a flower bed and drove away. She was discovered by Good Samaritans who called for an ambulance. She later died at Ocala Regional Medical Center.

Foxworth has been charged in the case. He remains free on bond.
