Villages chiropractor arrested after allegedly leaving scene of accident

Timothy Bodily

A Villages chiropractor was arrested after allegedly leaving the scene of an accident near his home.

Lady Lake police were called at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday to a location near The Quarters apartments on Teague Trail to a hit-and-run accident in which a vehicle hit a light pole.

The officer found a concrete light pole had been broken in half and there were silver car parts surrounding the pole.

The police officer drove around in the apartment complex’s parking lot and spotted a silver Dodge Avenger with front-end damage. The officer ran the license plate which led him to Apartment 11105 where chiropractor Timothy M. Bodily, 30, answered the door. He appeared to be intoxicated, according to the arrest report. He was slurring his words, could not stand straight and was swaying back and forth.

He admitted his vehicle had struck the light pole.

“The defendant stated after the accident he went home and laid down,” the officer wrote in the arrest report.

Bodily was arrested on a charge of leaving the scene of an accident and booked at the Lake County Jail. Bond was set at $500.

Bodily is a chiropractor at Pinellas Plaza.
