A man who attempted to walk out of Beall’s in a pair of stolen Sketchers, tried to bite a store employee who had detained him, according to an arrest report.
Ronald Glenn Perry, 45, of Williston, entered the store located on U.S. 441 in Lady Lake shortly after 2 p.m. Tuesday and put on a pair of white Sketchers, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. He put the shoes he had been wearing into a box and walked out of the store.
Perry was escorted by the store’s loss prevention officer back into an office in the store. Perry began to grow “antsy” and tried to push his way out of the office and past the store employee. When the loss prevention officer pinned Perry to the ground, Perry bit the employee’s hand three to four times, according to the arrest report.
When a deputy arrived on the scene, a search of Perry turned up a snuff can that contained methamphetamine.
A check revealed two prior convictions for theft and one prior conviction for battery.
Perry was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $6,500 bond.
