George Joseph Bartolomeo Jr., of The Villages, FL, died peacefully at his home on June 30, 2017.

Joe was born and raised in Baltimore, MD and was a graduate of Loyola University. He later moved to Bowie, MD where he and Lynn raised their 3 children. Joe loved boating and spent many weekends on the Chesapeake Bay. He was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary in Annapolis, MD. After his retirement, Joe and Lynn moved to The Villages where they have been residents of Glenbrook since 2002. Joe spent most of his retirement traveling with Lynn, golfing and volunteering at The Villages Regional Hospital.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lynn Bartolomeo, his son, Mark Bartolomeo and daughter-in-law, Lee; son, Tim Bartolomeo and his daughter-in-law, Anne; his daughter, Lisa Etzel and his son-in-law, Jim; his 5 Grandchildren, Jordan Bartolomeo, Justin Bartolomeo, Alex Bartolomeo and his wife Victoria, Jennifer Etzel and Collin Etzel; his brother, Richard Bartolomeo and sister-in-law, Barbara.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Mark the Evangelist Church, Summerfield, on Friday, July 7, 2017 at 10 a.m. The family will greet friends on Thursday, July 6, 2017 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Hiers- Baxley Funeral and Cremation Life Event Center, 3975 Wedgewood Lane, The Villages.
